Located on State Highway 5 and U.S. Highway 75, Anna, Texas, is ideally situated 45 miles from Dallas and only 11 miles northeast of McKinney. The City operates under a home rule charter adopted in 2005, with a council-manager form of government. The City Council, comprised of a Mayor and six City Council members, appoints a professional City Manager to serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the City and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. Additionally, the City Council also appoints the City Attorney, City Secretary, and Municipal Judge. The City’s 80 full-time employees provide a full array of quality municipal services.

The City of Anna seeks an experienced, highly skilled management professional with proven leadership skills in the areas of planning, development, redevelopment, and economic development. The selected candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible management experience in a city manager, deputy city manager, or assistant city manager position is required. At the time of employment, the candidate need not be a resident of the City or state but must reside within the city limits during tenure of office.
