The City of Hollywood seeks a confident and knowledgeable leader, experienced with land use, zoning, procurement, labor, employment, administrative law, public-private partnerships (P3s), contracts, and litigation, to serve as its next City Attorney. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and familiar with state statutes and county codes.

The next City Attorney will have extensive knowledge of federal, state, county, and municipal laws and laws relating to cities’ rights and privileges. They will be knowledgeable of judicial procedures and the rules of evidence; trial, appellate, and transactional practice; and administrative practices and procedures of the court system.

A Juris Doctorate from an A.B.A. accredited college of law is required. Candidates must also have a license to practice law as a member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association. Seven years of progressively responsible experience in practicing law in the public sector, including four years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity, is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Five years of experience in local government in Florida is preferred. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and proof of automobile insurance is required. Candidates must also pass a background check.
