he Tarrant County 911 District seeks an Executive Director. The District is governed by a 7-member Board of Managers, comprised of two members appointed by the City of Fort Worth, one member appointed by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, the City of Arlington, City of Grand Prairie, City of Irving, and the Tarrant County Mayor’s Council. One non-voting member represents the major service supplier. The District has a budget of $23,872,913 for FY 2016/17 and has 18 employees.

Located in north central Texas, Tarrant County has a population of 1,966,440. It is the state’s third-most populous county and the sixteenth most populous in the country. The county is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metro Area and covers approximately 1,100 square miles.

The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree business, public administration, urban affairs, computer science, or a closely related field and have 5 to 10 years of management experience. Knowledge of radio interoperability is desired. A master’s degree is preferred. Experience as a director or deputy director of a multi-jurisdictional public safety communications center serving law enforcement and fire/emergency medical services with a combined population of 200,000 or greater is a plus. Professional certifications and credentials will be considered in the overall evaluation of candidates. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
