Description
Nestled along the La Quinta Ship Channel, the City of Ingleside, Texas, is the hub of the Coastal Bend area. Just 15 minutes north of metropolitan Corpus Christi, the City is located off State Highway 35, with access to State Highways 361 and 181, in San Patricio County. The City is a home rule city operating under the council-manager form of government. The City is governed by a City Council that consists of six Councilmembers and the Mayor. The Council appoints a professional City Manager who is responsible to the City Council and manages all day-to-day affairs of the City. 

The City of Ingleside is seeking an experienced and highly-skilled professional civil engineer to be its new Director of Infrastructure Services. The ideal candidate will be expected to make independent decisions that support overall organizational goals and will have superb project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. The Director of Infrastructure Services will plan, organize, direct, and participate in the work associated with infrastructure, including design, drafting, construction, and quality inspection. The Director of Infrastructure Services works under the supervision of the City Manager, who reviews work through conferences and reports for results obtained, and provides support to not only Public Works, but Parks as well. At this time, this is a non-supervisory position, but it is anticipated that this will change during FY 2017/2018.

The selected candidate must have a minimum of five years of civil engineering experience, with experience working in a municipal setting desired, and must be registered as a professional civil engineer in the State of Texas. A valid Texas Class "C" driver’s license is required.
