The City has a total fiscal year budget of $133 million and employs a staff of 485.

The Director of Community Affairs represents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in City Management. Under the supervision of the Assistant City Manager, the Director of Community Affairs is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of neighborhood relations, communications, community engagement, and marketing for the City of Cedar Park. The Director coordinates activities with other departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager’s office. This position has 3 direct reports.

Qualified candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, political science, communications, public relations, or a related field and must have a least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in local government, with three (3) years of experience supervising staff in a highly visible community outreach or public information position preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. A valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record, is required. The salary range for this position is $81,000-$121,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
