The City of Irving seeks a strong leader with a passion for public service and community to serve as the next Director of Inspections. The Director of Inspections reviews building permit plans, processes and issues permits, conducts construction inspections, and conducts health inspections. The Director is responsible for a department of 32 employees and an annual budget of $3.3 million.

The next Director of Inspections will require exceptional leadership, communication, and facilitation skills, as well as a strong sense of vision. A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction technology, business administration, or related field is required. A minimum of 8 years of experience in planning, inspections, construction, or a related field, including at least 5 years of administrative and supervisory experience, is required; 10 years of experience is preferred. The salary for this position is $109,968+ depending on qualifications and experience.
