The City of Brenham is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and effective municipal city management professional to be its next City Manager. Conveniently situated in southeast Texas midway between Houston and Austin, Brenham is a full-service city known for its beautiful spring bluebonnets, incredible history, German heritage, and delicious ice cream. The City covers 12.94 square miles, with an approximate population of 17,000.

Brenham is a home rule city and operates under the council-manager form of government with a Mayor and six Council members. The City Council hires the City Manager to oversee the delivery of a full range of public services provided by 237.41 full-time equivalent employees and an operating budget of $60.6 million.

The new City Manager should be a results-driven, steadfastly strategic, visionary but grounded servant leader. The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and have at least 10 years of progressively responsible municipal government experience, including two years of experience as an Assistant City Manager. A master’s degree is preferred. Experience in free-standing, full service cites or cities with expanded service menus is highly desirable.
