Boerne is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government. The City Attorney, who is appointed by the City Council but supervised day to day by the City Manager, serves as the City’s chief legal advisor in all governmental matters and is tasked with ensuring that the actions of the City, its officers, and employees are legally, as well as regulatorily, compliant.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, a juris doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and have at least five years of increasingly responsible experience in Texas public and municipal law. The City of Boerne offers a starting salary between $140,000 and $170,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The City expects the selected candidate to establish Boerne residency by his or her first employment anniversary.
