Description
The Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) is a large regional water supply partnership between the cities of Cedar Park, Leander, and Round Rock, Texas. Its purpose is to provide reliable, cost-effective sources of water to these rapidly growing jurisdictions. The General Manager is the chief executive officer of the BCRUA. Under the direction of the BCRUA Board of Directors, and in consultation with the BCRUA Operating Committee, the General Manager is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of policies for the construction and operations of the regional utility authority. 

The BCRUA Board of Directors is seeking a highly collaborative, innovative, visionary but grounded leader with an outgoing personality, inclusive management style, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The person selected will be a mature, thoughtful, ethical, highly disciplined, extremely diplomatic, steadfastly strategic, and results driven manager who inspires and motivates others by example. Ideally, the next General Manager will be a recognized water utility professional with a record of uniting and successfully leading large, regulatory compliant public water utilities. The incoming General Manager must have highly developed problem solving, technical, project management, mediation, negotiation, presentation and media skills. An ability to identify and co-opt best practices, embrace emerging technology, increase professionalism, and promote innovation is extremely important. 

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field and have seven years of progressive experience in public utilities, public works, or a related field, with at least three years of executive/department head level experience; or a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field, plus at least ten years of progressive experience in public utilities or public works, with at least five years of executive/department head experience. Registration as a professional engineer with the State of Texas (P.E.) is preferred. The annual salary for this position is $90,000.00. The selected candidate will be expected to work an average of twenty-four (24) to twenty-eight (28) hours per week.
