The City seeks a creative, visionary leader and strategic thinker to be its new Planning Director. The Planning Director coordinates the effective and efficient administration of the City’s development related regulations pursuant to the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan, including both long range and current planning activities. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the Planning Department. 

The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, urban planning, business administration, or a related field and have five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in the management of diverse municipal functions, professional planning administration, and supervisory experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.  A valid current driver’s license and certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) are required.
