A principal city in the Killeen-Temple- Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has an estimated population of 428,000, Temple covers 75.15 square miles and offers an exceptional quality of life to approximately 79,286 residents. 

The City of Temple is a full-service, home rule city operating under a council-manager form of government. The City Council, comprised of a Mayor and four Council members, appoints a professional City Manager to lead and direct the daily operations of the organization. The City seeks a creative, personable, and strategic leader to serve as its Main Street Manager. The Main Street Manager works to revitalize and redevelop the City’s downtown to foster growth and helps create a strengthened business climate. This position also assists with the development and implementation of physical improvements to downtown assets and serves as the primary manager of events and programs in the downtown area.

A bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, marketing, real estate, economics, management, urban and regional planning, or economic development is preferred. Three (3) years of experience in planning, community development, marketing, or economic development is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered.
