The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. A progressive record of command experience with a range of assignments is required; experience as Chief in a comparable department is preferred. Advanced training such as the National Fire Academy is considered a plus. New firefighters are all required to obtain their paramedic certification after hire.
