The City of Forney is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and six City Council members. The City Council appoints a professional City Manager who directs the day-to-day operations of the organization.
The Mayor and City Council seek a seasoned leader with substantial experience in a high growth community with a major focus on infrastructure planning and maintaining growth momentum. An innovative, dedicated, and confident local government professional who understands the importance of open and forthright communication and who can provide strong leadership in carrying out the policies set by City Council will be successful.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, finance, or a closely related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. The chosen candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience in an executive level position in a community of comparable size or larger.
