Clackamas County operates under the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The BCC selects a professional County Administrator to manage the day-to-day operation of the organization. The County has a budget of $845,167,459 and 2,129 budgeted FTE. The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years of progressive experience managing a large and diverse public agency/organization with a complex budget with multiple lines of business and source of funding.

Preferred special qualifications/transferable skills are: a master’s degree in public administration, business, administration, a closely related field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge and skills; knowledge and understanding of the complexities and distinctions in delivering exceptional service to urban and rural stakeholders; and thorough knowledge of process improvement and organization change management concepts.

Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver’s license and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment. Finalist must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, including credit history.

The salary range for this position is $165,583-$223,449 depending on qualifications and experience.
