The City of Midland is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Finance. The successful candidate will have a strong organizational and budgeting aptitude, as well as project coordination experience. Must demonstrate strong management skills and a thorough understanding of accounting concepts. Familiarity with applicable tax, financial and debt-related Texas statutes is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. CGFO and CPA preferred. A track record of continuing involvement in professional development is expected, as well as a minimum of five years as a Finance Director or as an Assistant Director in a municipality of a similar size.
