Dallas County seeks an experienced, outgoing, and service-oriented candidate to serve as its new Deputy Elections Director. Under the direct supervision of the Elections Administrator, the Deputy Elections Director assists the Elections Administrator in directing and overseeing various elections sponsored by Dallas County and contracted by cities and schools, while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws specified in the Texas Election Code. This position supervises exempt and non-exempt employees and approximately 5,000 election personnel during major elections, with budget oversight of $3 million and an additional $2 million in service contracts. 

Education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, liberal arts, social sciences, or in a job-related field of study is required. Four (4) years of experience in administration or public relations, including two (2) years of management experience in an elections department or the equivalent, is required. The selected candidate must be a current registered voter in the State of Texas and Dallas County or be eligible to register to vote in the State of Texas and Dallas County upon hire. The chosen candidate must be a resident of Dallas County or become a Dallas County resident upon hire.
